The Royal Canadian Legion Br 10 Newcastle located at 345 Campbell Street hosts Karaoke every Friday night from 9 pm until midnight. Come on in to give us a song or just to listen along. Everyone over 19 years of age are welcome to come and play.

Royal Canadian Legion Br 10 Newcastle will be hosting it's next crib tournament on Sunday, May 17, 2026. Registration starts at 12 noon with game play at 1 pm sharp. Teams of 2 at $20 per team. $2 buy in for Progressive High Hand. There is also a 50/50 draw. All over 19 are welcome to come play.

Walk of Hope at French Fort Cove(Playground side) on May 22nd at 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.  It's an awareness event to show support for those living with Mental Illness including Schizophrenia.  Event open to everyone to come and show your support.

The MVHS Drama Club presents and ENCORE run of John Van Druten's I Remember Mama, a gratifyingly sentimental play which shows how Mama, with the help of her husband and Uncle Chris, raises a family in their modest San Francisco home during the early years of the 20th century. Show dates are May 22-23 @ 7PM. MVHS Theatre. Tickets are $20.00 and can be reserved by calling 627-4083 or purchased at the door

May 31 “The Knights of Columbus Council 8381, in Nelson, will be holding their monthly funding raising breakfast on Sunday, May 31. 2026 from 8:00AM to 1:00PM in the Seniors Hall located at 26 Sutton Road.  Cost is $10.00 for adults or Take-Away (622-1010), $5.00 for children and a Family Rate is $25.00.
