2017 Schedule

MAMMA MIA will be playing at the James M Hill theatre June 30th-July 3rd at 7 pm nightly.
Tickets are $20 each.  The story telling magic of ABBA’s timeless songs propels this
enchanting tale of love, laughter and friendship, creating an unforgettable show.  Non stop
laughs and explosive dance numbers make this a smash hit.

THURSDAY JUNE 29

• 7:00pm – Opening Ceremonies & Street Dance
  The official opening of the festival. Music by Millbank Music. Bring a lawn chair.
  Location: Waterfront Parking Lot, Newcastle.
• 10:00pm – Celebration of Lights on the River
• 10:00pm – Fireworks party zone, Free Admission, adult dance DJ Planet Zee
• 10:30pm – Rock N Roll Festival Fireworks

FRIDAY JUNE 30 • HOMECOMING

• 12:00pm – 4:00pm – Live Entertainment and Children’s Activities
  Location: Queen Elizabeth Park
• 6:00pm – Car Owners Meet & Greet
  Location:  Under the tent
• 9:30pm – 1:30am – Adult Dance featuring “Midnight Special”
  Gates open at 8:30pm

SATURDAY JULY 1

• 9:00am – Sidewalk Sale around the Square
• 9:00am – Show Off Your Baby
  Take a walk around the Town Square as the owners of these antique beauties show off their babies. Security will be on site.
• 11:00am – Canada 150 Birthday Bash with the largest cake ever! Sponsored by Atlantic Superstore

• 12:00pm – 4:00pm – Live Entertainment and Children’s Activities

• 1:00pm – Fire and Knights Canada Day Parade
• 2:30pm – 5:00pm – Entertainment in the tent
  
• 3:00pm – Canada’s Forgotten Father (30 minute preview teaser)
  
• 4:00pm – Special Presentation in the tent
  
• 6:00pm – Cruise Around The River
  Take a step back in time and watch the parade of nostalgic antiques cruise around the river. The parade will make its way down the North side of the beautiful Miramichi River, across the Centennial Bridge and up the South side of the River. Parade starts and ends at the Goodie Shop Restaurant.
• 9:30pm – 1:30am – Adult Dance featuring Big Bad Party Band with special guest CCMA Award Winner Jason Barry
  Gates open at 8:30pm
  19 years of age and over.

SUNDAY JULY 2

• 10:00am – 11:30 am – Rock of Ages – Church Service
  Come out to see Rock of Ages, an eclectic group of Christian rockers of all ages. They love high energy, high impact music that pleases audiences wherever they go. They want to give praise to God with their signature sound. They will also appeal to participants with an engaging and emotional drama, interpretive dance and spellbounding message. Prepare to be ROCKED! Don’t miss this opportunity.
• 1:00pm – 5:00pm – Golden Oldie Car Show
  A spectacular display of classic cars.
  Location: Waterfront Parking Lot, Newcastle.
  “The Very Best” Car Show in Atlantic Canada!
• 1:00pm – 4:00pm – Kids Fun Day
  An afternoon filled with fun and games for young and old.
  Location: Waterfront Parking Lot Newcastle.
• 1:00pm – 4:00pm – Boat Tours to Beaubear Island
  departing from Ritchie Wharf
• 1:00pm – 3:00pm – Pit Stop Challenge
  This new and exciting event will give participants the thrill and experience of competing for the fastest time in a simulated racing pit stop challenge by changing all four tires on a real Atlantic modified tour race car. Entry Fee is forty dollars for a team of four. Prizes will be awarded based on the amount of teams participating.
