175th anniversary of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Saint John

“OUR BEGINNINGS” celebrating the 175th anniversary of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Saint John will take place this coming Saturday, June 3, at Saint Peter’s & Saint Paul’s Parish in Bartibogue where it all began.

The day will start off with a Sweet Grass Ceremony at 7am followed by a breakfast. There will be presentations by people representing the four cultural groups associated with the Catholic Church over the years, including: First Nations, Irish, Acadian and Scottish. Also taking place during the day will be musical entertainment from the Miramichi Talent Pool. There will be a BBQ during the afternoon. There is no cost to attend any and all events.

The day will finish up with a Mass, at 3pm, celebrated by The Most Reverend Robert Harris, Bishop of the Diocese of Saint John.
