DESCRIPTION:Nature Miramichi – meeting Tuesday\, May 7\, Nelson Sr. Citizen Centre\, 26 Sutton Rd. Nelson\, Miramichi.\nGuest Speaker at 6:30 p.m. Lewnanny Richardson of Nature NB. All are WELCOME.\nMost shorebirds nest far to the north of us\, and we see them mainly on their migration south after their breeding season has finished. However\, there are a few species of shorebirds which do nest in the area\, one of which is the Piping Plover – a species at risk. Lewnanny Richardson\, biologist and program coordinator for Species at Risk with Nature NB\, will present on the Piping Plover population on the Acadian Peninsula and provide an update on the work done by Nature NB to monitor and protect these special shorebirds during their breeding season. Lewnanny has presented to our group on several occasions\, and his presentations are always very engaging and informative. \n
